I always thought that I was the only one that had a problem with our plumbing on Christmas Day. Twice in our household we have had what I would refer to as MAJOR EVENTS.
One time is was simply the Drain and fortunately our neighbor was able to unclog it after several hours of work. However, we had some water damage.

David, I remember shoving a boat load of potato peels down the garbage disposal one Thanksgiving. Of course, those little baldes could not chomp through the mess I fed it. It backed up the sinks and made a horrible mess. Now I throw them in the trashcan after getting the LECTURE.

That was a good article with simple solutions rto avoid costly repairs of these GDU's. We don't have those in Manhattan apartments. Never seen one. But I remember when I owned a house out West the guy told me not ot throw anything down the GDU. Ironically enough, it is for trash disposal but had so many do's and don'ts that it was easier for me to just throw EVERYTHING in the trash!
